Day 1: Nairobi / Amboseli
Pick up at the airport or hotel by our representative, this is the reason why you come to Africa,
charge your cameras, grab your binoculars as your eagle –eyed driver guide will be quick to spot
the wildlife. After breakfast, check out and drive to Amboseli National Park; Kenya’s first
established Game Park in the word ‘Amboseli’ is the Masai word for “salt dust”. It is situated on the
foot of Mt. Kilimanjaro very close to the Tanzanian border. With the majestic backdrop of Mt.
Kilimanjaro, spectacular displays of wildlife (lion, elephant, leopard, rhino, cheetah, and buffalo)
and various plains’ game, postcard perfect pictures are almost always guaranteed. Arrive at your
lodge for lunch and later afternoon game drive returning back to the lodge for Dinner and
Overnight. All meals and Overnight at Amboseli Serena Safari Lodge / Similar Lodge.
Day 2: Amboseli National Park
Early morning game drive can be taken in Amboseli when Mt. Kilimanjaro usually appears from its
mantle of clouds, the game Proceeds to the area of Lake Amboseli, which is a wide salt pan,
consisting of permanent swamps. This area has much game, large and small, high concentration of
Elephant, rhino, buffalo, Burchell’s zebra, eland, Masai giraffe and small species of the antelope
family, the common water buck, klipspringer, Grant’s gazelle, impala, topi, and the diminutive duiker
among others. Amboseli offers some of the best opportunities to see African animals because its
vegetation is sparse due to the long dry months, its home to wild animals, which includes African
elephant, buffalo, impala, lion, cheetah, hyena, giraffes, zebra, wildebeest among others. There is
also a host of Kenya birds, both large and small, to see if you keep your eyes open and stop at
every sighting. Visit Observation Hill, which overlooks the park, swamps and, of course, the herds
of free-roaming elephants.
Day 3: Amboseli – Tarangire
Breakfast, en-route game drive as you drive to Namanga border for immigration formalities. Meet
our Tanzanian guide and drive to Tarangire national park to arrive at the lodge for dinner and
Overnight. Tarangire national park has an extensive collection of exotic birds, antelopes, lions,
leopards, giraffes, buffaloes and the supposedly tree climbing pythons which can be seen around
the swamps. But the most important feature of this Park, the game in the necklace, is the Tarangire
River, this is a well established view point, where game can be viewed ambling to and from the River
throughout the day. Thousands of animals migrate from Maasai steppe to the Tarangire River,
looking for water. Baobab trees, also called ‘upside down trees’, are among the World’s biggest
trees and can be seen thriving all along the river-banks and all over the park too. Due to the low
volume of traffic in the park, the game is wild, being unaccustomed to vehicles, this offers a truly
unique experience.
Day 4: Tarangire / Ngorongoro Crater
After breakfast, morning to Mid day game drive in Tarangire noted as a safari destination for its
elephant population and spectacular baobabs of every shape and colour. The parks name is derived
from the Tarangire River, the parks only source of permanent water. In dry season this river is the
lifeline, attracting much of the game. Huge herds of elephant, Zebra, buffalo, wildebeest and rhino
and lion enjoy this terrain and are frequently seen. The Park is also synonymous with two of the
rarer game species; the greater kudu and the Fringe-eared oryx. In addition, leopard and treeclimbing pythons often inhabit the trees. Large herds of antelope of all sorts, up to 300 elephants
scratch the dry river bed for underground streams, while migratory wildebeest, zebra, buffalo,
impala, gazelle, hartebeest and eland crowd the shrinking lagoons. It’s the greatest concentration
of wildlife outside the Serengeti ecosystem – a smorgasbord for predators. Proceed to Ngorongoro
for dinner & overnight.
Day 5: Ngorongoro Crater
After breakfast descend into the crater for a wonderful game drive (with a picnic lunches) It is the
world’s largest intact volcanic caldera and a natural sanctuary for some of Africa’s densest animal
populations. It is one of the few places where the rare black rhino can be observed in their natural
setting. As very few animals migrate in and out of the crater with its 2000 ft. high walls, you can
expect to see lions, elephants, zebras, hippos, flamingos, jackals, rhinos, antelopes, many birds and
other species. With a bit of luck the ‘Big Five’ can be spotted during one game drive only, ranging far
and wide. Your guide will point out, among many aspects of animal behavior, the fascinating way
that elephants communicate with subtle interactions. Ngorongoro Crater is a breathtakingly beautiful
setting and the best place in Tanzania to see the Big Five. However, as one of the world’s most
astonishing and renowned natural wonders. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 6: Ngorongoro / Serengeti
After breakfast, drive to Serengeti national park. In the central plains there are carnivores like leopard,
lion, hyena and cheetah. This park is normally the scene of the annual migration of wildebeest and
zebra that occurs between Mara and Serengeti which makes the park arguably the best known wildlife
sanctuary in the world with over 3 million large mammals. About 35 species of plains animals can be
seen there including the “big 5” – Elephant, Rhino, Lion, Leopard and Buffalo, Other common species
found here includes hippo, giraffe, eland, impala and other antelopes, baboons, and a profusion of
over 500 species of birds. In May or early June, huge herds of wildebeest, gazelle and zebra begin their
annual spectacular migration northwards. In their wake follow predators, lion, cheetah and wild dogs
with vultures circling overhead! After the thrills and excitement it will be time to relax in the open
savannas waiting for dinner and overnight at lodge.
Day 7: Serengeti national park
After breakfast, full day game viewing with picnic lunch box. It is the migration for which Serengeti is
perhaps most famous. Over a million wildebeest and about 200,000 zebras flow south from the
northern hills to the southern plains for the short rains every October and November, swirl west and
north after the long rains in April, May and June. So strong is the ancient instinct to move that no
drought, gorge or crocodile infested river can hold them back, with its high number of resident
carnivores, the opportunity to find lion, cheetah and leopard is unparalleled, combine with over two
million wild beast, making their journey every year to the Masai mara less than a kilometer from the
lodge makes an encounter. The spectacle of predator versus prey dominates Tanzania’s greatest
park. Golden-maned lion prides feast on the abundance of plain grazers. Solitary leopards haunt the
acacia trees lining the Seronera River, while a high density of cheetahs prowls the southeastern
plains.
Day 8: Serengeti / Masai Mara
After breakfast, check out on en-route game drive to Masai mara game reserve. The landscape here
is scenic Savannah grassland on rolling hills. The reserve is the best park for game in Kenya as it has
an extensive road and track network, which allows for close range viewing and photography. The
abundance of water and excellent availability of food are the reasons Masai mara has greatest
population of wild animals in the whole of Africa. From July to October, the annual migration of
huge herds of Gnus and Zebras, predators such as Hyenas, Jackals, Leopards and Lions closely follow
these herds. The plain is literally covered with these animals. Grunts and other animal sounds are
heard, and territorial fights are commonplace. Almost uniquely, all three African jackal species occur
here,
alongside the spotted hyena and a host of more elusive small predators, ranging from the
insectivorous aardwolf to the beautiful serval cat. Proceed to the lodge for Dinner and overnight.
Day 9: Masai Mara
After breakfast, full day game viewing in Masai mara which has a long history of capturing the
imagination of travelers, a natural wonder of dramatic contrasts that gives you an unforgettable and
remarkable experience whether it’s in an amazement of watching thousands of wild beasts
struggling across a rushing river that is littered with crocodiles waiting for their prey makes the
world’s premier wildlife spectacle. Afternoon is spent on a game drive in search of the black
manned lions which the park is famous. Lion making a kill can be witnessed in the late afternoon or
a leopard in a tree enjoying the meal he has dragged up to avoid disturbance and detection. The ‘big
five’ are positively represented here. Large predators are the lions, leopards and cheetahs. Smaller
predators are the hyena and jackal. Large herbivores are the elephant, rhino, Burchell’s zebra,
hippo, buffalo and giraffe. The smaller herbivores are the antelope and bucks. Return to the Lodge
for Dinner & Overnight.
Day 10: Masai Mara / Nairobi / Departure 
After Breakfast, morning game drive in the park in search of wild game. No two days are alike and you
can never predict what new discoveries awaits you, but one thing we can predict is that you will be
overwhelmed by the beautiful landscapes, colorful people and abundance and variety of wildlife
encountered. Optional visit to the Masai village may add up a test or rather an optional balloon ride as
you drift above the browsing game and have tremendous opportunities for unusual photographs. What
could be more uplifting than an early morning safari in a hot air balloon flying over vast plains of Masai
mara? Witness an African Sunrise a plethora of wildlife roams the land beneath you. At the end of the
flight you land on the plains in the midst of this enchanting Savannah champagne, breakfast is laid out
with the aroma of sausages, eggs and bacon sizzling over charcoal fire. The tour returns back to Nairobi
arriving in the evening. Drop off at your hotel or airport in Nairobi.
